Book Review | Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

always

Lara Jean’s letter-writing days aren’t over in this surprise follow-up to the New York Times bestselling To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You.

Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

Happy December 1st friends!

(Or, as I like to call it, Christmas #1)!

I haven’t been super active lately due to exams and AP Chemistry (ewewewewew), but I’m trying my best to keep it together in school which means this blog has to take a back seat every now and then 😦

BUT! Here I am with a post on the very first day of December! And today it’s all about the holidays and books, so cozy up with a warm blanket and a hot beverage and let us begin!

New Goodreads Group: Wordish Whales!

32e09f37705271-y3jvccw1mzasnde0ldg4lde0ma

I’ve  created a new group on goodreads! Don’t ask why I called it Wordish Whales because I have no answer except for that whales are pretty chill? And it’s gonna be a pretty chill group?

Anyway, it’d be awesome if you’d like to join and feel free to send a request here!

I’m planning on doing a monthly book reading thing and having a discussion at the end of the month on my blog! I dunno how we will do the discussion (maybe Google Hangouts like they do on book tube?), but that’s only if everyone’s comfortable with it or there are a few volunteers to discuss the book so the rest can watch live or later!

It’s going to be super fun, but only if people join so swim your way over to the request sender (i’m gonna have a great time with these whale puns omg)!

(Please excuse the many grammatical errors in this post as I wrote it in under 5 minutes! It will probably be deleted later, so don’t worry!)

Hellos & Goodbyes: August

august

Aight, so remember how like three months ago I was all like, “Yeah, in August imma be in Saudi Arabia finally!”? Well that obviously didn’t happen as I am still in the USA.

BUT

I am confident that this time next month, we will be in Saudi Arabia (lol I probably just jinxed myself, but come on!!!). Anyway, I just wanted to give a lil’ preface before you think that every time I say I’m leaving i’m just lying (which, I guess technically I am. Oops.).

I hope you enjoy this (late) post!

tumblr_lboxp0rG461qb0zfoo1_500

I was legit so emotional the entire trip because everywhere you looked there was something from the HP series! It was just so so fun (even though it rained a whole lot due to a tropical storm, BUT on the bright side the storm was called Hermione so i’m cool with it).

Anyway, in this post I’m going to share some pictures, stories, and lil’ tid-bits I learned from my trip! Hope you enjoy!

Book Review: Milk & Honey by Rupi Kaur

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

milk and honey is a collection of poetry and prose about survival. It is about the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss, and femininity. It is split into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose, deals with a different pain, heals a different heartache. milk and honey takes readers through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look.

Wowowowow. How I can put my love for this book into words is almost impossible, but I’m gonna try. I got this yesterday and read it all in one sitting (which wasn’t hard, as some pages just have one sentence, but at least I read something!). I’m having a hard time reading actual books at the moment (a.k.a, why I haven’t been posting as much *sadface*).

How To: Read When Your Life Is Completely Crazy

rwlicc

Given that many of you have other obligations besides reading (if you don’t, how dare you I’m jealous) things can become a little bit crazy to say the least. You’ve got school and/or your job, extra-curricular activities, personal things going on… If you think about it, it’s a wonder that we even have time to breathe, let alone read a full length novel!

In other words:

your plate is full!

So how how how do we keep reading during times like these? HA, good question, because I too still struggle with this, BUT I have figured out a few ways to make things a little easier on all of us 🙂

Hellos & Goodbyes: June

Since there have been some pretty big changes in my life, I’ve decided to dedicate a whole post to kind of explaining the whole dealio! For those who may not know, I am currently in the process of moving countries (which is a pretty big deal since I’ve lived in America my entire life). It’s not Europe or Canada, or any place you’d expect a person to move!
